Teleradiology refers to usage of electronic
means to transfer of the scanner-acquired
data of a patient to radiologists’ end, ready
in the form of prepared scan report. This
can now be sent back in the form of
Dx-USG-CT- MR-NM- PET etc. It helps in
faster and cost effective diagnosis, even
in remote locations. However due to risks
of leakage of patient information, HIPAA
compliance must be ensured.
